How to plant vegetable seeds in your home garden
For Ewedu, tete and shoko, rodo, tatashe seeds
- It is best to pick a spot where the plant can get direct sunlight for atleast 6-8 hours per day.
- Before planting Ewedu seeds, tie the seeds loosely in a handkerchief. place pot with water on burner, once the water boils a bit , dip handkerchief into it for a second or two (the water is only supposed to boil for a little bit, don’t use boiling water). Bring out handkerchief, spread the seeds to dry again then the next day, you can mix with soil and spread over land you wish to plant on.
- Prepare the land before planting; till the soil to make it soft, nourish the soil (with manure) to make it fertile- mix it with the soil, make ridges to avoid soil nutrient being washed off.
- Plant the different vegetables seperately; Plant the seeds by mixing them with some soil and spreading it over the ridges you have made.
- Make sure you water twice a day (morning and night), especially in the first 4 weeks of planting and during the dry season.
